Description
Scoria is a highly porous rock made from rapidly cooling lava. It provides a high surface area for aeration, an excellent storage site of nutrients within your soil, and improves drainage!
Scoria is a more eco-friendly aeration amendment which hasn't undergone an energy intensive process to convert from obsidian rock.
Scoria provides fantastic drainage, as well as some water retention properties.
Scoria is long lasting and doesn't get crushed to dust quickly like perlite. This makes it ideal for a No-Til environment, especially in combination with rice hulls to form your aeration portion of your soil mix.
